GALLERY

BOWLS

This is one of a series of pots originally made for the art gallery in the Philip Cox hotel complex at Uluru. It was meant to express aboriginality without offending against their cultural expression. It is a fine line to tread.

In the 1970's and 1980's I did a series of pots that owe their origin to the Six Old Kilns of Japan, yet, hopefully retained their own Australian-ness.

BacK

This is another pot from the same period as the previous one. They were all fired to stoneware but were only lightly 'reduced' in the firing atmosphere.
