FREE - FORM PLATTERS
A free-form platter, Stoneware, approx.35 cms 2011. Opaque white glaze and background of manganese and copper.
Free-form, Stoneware approx 26 cms. Again I have used iron oxide from Western Australia. There is a vast area of iron oxide with names like Mt Tom Price, Parabadoo, Yandicoogina, and others. All give a similar brightness because of their purity. Unfortunately it is not readily available to potters and I was fortunate to have visited these areas by helicopter courtesy of the mining company.
